To Education and Skills Providers
A major remit of the National Skills Academy for Power (the Skills Academy) is to ensure that sufficient quality training provision is in place to support the current and future skills needs of the Power Sector. This is a vital element of the Skills Academy's work on common competence, sector attractiveness and ensuring a future workforce that is able to keep the lights on.
A Network of Approved Education and Skills Providers
The Skills Academy has developed a partnership model for Education and Skills Providers (ESPs) to engage sufficient local and UK-wide provision of high quality to meet the current and anticipated needs of employers within the Power Sector.
The Partnership Model has been created in conjunction with Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) to ensure that this model is relevant across the whole of the energy and utilities footprint. During the engagement phase with ESPs, the relevance across the whole energy and utilities footprint will be discussed, to ensure that the full breadth of delivery for ESPs is considered.
The development of a network of approved providers will help to provide sufficient capacity to address skills forecasts, enable efficient use of sector training capacity to address skills forecasts, enable efficient use of sector training resources, provide easier access to training facilities and more chance for employers and potential learners.
