Higher Skills Network

The demand for higher skills (i.e. Technicians and above) is increasing and with record numbers of highly skilled engineers and specialists retiring from the Power Sector over the next 15 years a review of the higher skills supply and delivery is essential.

The purpose of the Higher Skills Network is to address the current situation and gain an understanding of what the future could look like in terms of landscape and requirements for higher skills.

To support the development of the Power Sector Higher Skills Strategy, the Higher Skills Network is gathering employers input to gain an understanding of current skills and academic provision with a view to producing proposals for consideration by the end of February 2012.
